There are some really nice custom monuments in Morris County NJ. The people who make them get really creative with the designs. I’ve seen one that was made to look like a character from Star Wars, and another one that looked exactly like a general on top of a horse. I don’t know how people decide on what kinds of things they want made into monuments, but they pick some really cool things that would catch a lot of people’s eyes. This inspired me to get a monument of my own that would be displayed in public and be shown to the world.

I’m naturally indecisive, so when it came time for me to choose the monument that would be made for me, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted. I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head about things that would make good ideas for monuments. I thought about all of the activities and accomplishments that I’ve done so far, all of the things that I like, and even about old television shows and movies that I’ve watched. I realized that I was making the selection process a little more complicated than it had to be. I wrote down a list of some of things that I thought would best represent me in monument form.

Eventually, I narrowed my choices down to one thing, and that was my family. I love them all, and they’ve been apart of my life for as long as I can remember, so I took a photo of me with my family and gave it to a monument company to make one that would show me surrounded by them. I wanted my family to know that I loved them as much as they loved me, even after I was no longer with them.
